Two kinds of peace
My Saturday was busy, but filled with visions of peace.
First was the peace that I find at the sanctuary.

Sassafras snoozing.
And then was simply basking in the beauty of the cherry blossoms, which last for only a few weeks, and which require the braving of gigantic crowds in order to see them. But it was worth it, and one lesson life has taught me well is that no matter the crowds, we can always find that peace and solitude, if that is what we seek.

I love the teaching of you can always find peace and solitude. Something I often need to be reminded of.
Sassafras is divine!
When I first heard about the cherry blossoms in DC I was like, “whatever . . . how pretty can they be and why would so many people freak out over them.” But then I went and was part of the awe-stricken crowd. And the pure quantity is just incredible! I was able to find that peaceful moment by getting up close and having a moment with one blossom, just like you have/share your moments with individuals at Poplar. Thanks for sharing!
Rich, I think it is something we all need to be reminded of! It can be a hard lesson but comforting once you’ve found it.
Mary, I agree, it is hard to understand what is so captivating about the cherry blossoms until you see and experience them. I kept putting off going down there, I’m glad I finally got in a visit! They will likely be gone by the time I get into that part of DC again.
Is that a tusk I see on that piggy? Pigs just have so much personality, don’t you think?
