I took this picture a few weeks back, when I was taking some yoga portraits of one of my yoga teachers for a class project. We had fun playing around with long shutter exposures, and so this is a portrait of her in two different poses.

Check out the rest of this week’s participants as well!

Hmmmmmmmmm, I’m stunned at the whole photo. A great job. Now, if you’d explain how it’s done! LOL
My Photo Hunt Different is shared, I hope, if you haven’t already, you can drop by and pay a visit. Happy weekend.

@Peter – thanks! Meditation is something I always mean to work on, and never quite do. The somewhat meditative state I achieve in yoga is the closest I come. Thanks for the reminder though – I do want to develop a meditation habit!
@ Hootin’ Anni – thanks! As for how it is done, it was fairly simple, as long as you have a tripod (and really, a stack of books or a chair would work fine, as long as the camera would remain steady) and your camera let’s you set a long exposure. I have a dSLR, but I know a lot of the point and shoot cameras give you this capability as well. I think we used a 10 second exposure for this, though it might have been 6 seconds. I had her stay in the first pose for about half the time, and then hold the second pose for the remainder. I’ll be by shortly to check yours out!

That is a VERY cool picture. Someday I’ll be able to pose like that. Someday very far into the future.

Ouh. This is a cool photo! OK I’ll go playing around with my camera later this afternoon for something like this too.

That’s so cool! It almost works as an “N” in your alphabet series.
